Can I Customize the SMS and Email Message?

Yes — you can edit both the SMS and email templates from Settings → Message Templates.

What you can change

  • The wording of the SMS message
  • The email subject line
  • The email body

You can adjust the tone, add your business name in a specific way, change how the time is introduced — whatever feels right for your practice.

What you can't change

  • The booking link itself (it's generated automatically and is required)
  • The "slot just filled" follow-up message (sent automatically to clients who didn't respond in time)

Available variables

Use these placeholders in your templates — they're replaced with real values when the message is sent:

| Variable | What it becomes | |----------|----------------| | `{contact_name}` | Client's first name (or full name if no first name) | | `{schedule_name}` | The appointment type (e.g., "Laser Hair Removal") | | `{location_name}` | Your business name | | `{slot_time}` | The date and time of the open slot | | `{claim_url}` | The one-tap link to book the slot | | `{claim_window}` | How long they have to respond (e.g., "15 minutes") |

How to edit your templates

1. Go to Settings → Message Templates.

2. Edit the SMS, email subject, or email body. Each field has a live character count. For SMS, keep it under 160 characters for best delivery.

3. Use the Preview button to see how your message will look with sample data filled in.

4. Click Save templates.

Resetting to the default

Each field has a "Reset to default" button. This restores the original FullSlot template for that field without affecting the others.

Tips

  • Keep SMS short. Under 160 characters delivers as one message. Over 160 splits into two, which can look unprofessional and costs more.
  • Include the booking link. If you remove `{claim_url}` from your template, clients won't be able to book the slot.
  • Use `{contact_name}` to personalize — messages with the client's name have higher response rates.
