How Do I Connect Google Calendar?
Connecting Google Calendar lets FullSlot watch for cancellations in your calendar and notify your waitlist automatically.
Before you start
Make sure you have:
- A Google account with access to the calendar you use for appointments
- At least one appointment type set up in FullSlot (Settings → Appointment Types)
- At least one client on your waitlist
How to connect
1. Go to Integrations in the sidebar 2. Click Connect next to Google Calendar 3. Sign in with your Google account and grant the requested permissions 4. Select which calendar FullSlot should monitor (if you have multiple) 5. Map your appointment types — tell FullSlot which event titles or patterns correspond to which waitlist
Once connected, FullSlot monitors your calendar in real time. When a cancellation is detected, your waitlist is notified automatically.
Optional: Google Calendar add-on
If you want to manage FullSlot directly from Google Calendar, install the FullSlot add-on from the Google Workspace Marketplace. It lets you pin appointment types to events directly from the Calendar sidebar — useful when your event titles don't follow a consistent pattern.
See Using the Google Calendar Add-on for setup instructions.
How cancellations are detected
FullSlot uses a combination of real-time push notifications and periodic polling to make sure nothing falls through the cracks. When an event is deleted or marked cancelled, FullSlot picks it up within seconds.
Troubleshooting
No cancellations are being detected:
- Confirm the integration shows as "Connected" in Integrations
- Check that your appointment types are mapped to the correct event patterns
- Make sure the calendar you connected is the one your appointments are actually on
FullSlot is detecting the wrong appointment type:
- Add a classification rule or provider rule to give FullSlot a stronger signal. See How FullSlot matches cancellations to your waitlists
