Setting Up Provider Rules

Provider rules tell FullSlot which appointment type to use when a specific provider's name appears in a calendar event. Once set, FullSlot routes cancellations to the right waitlist automatically — no manual review needed.

When you need them

If your business has multiple providers (practitioners, stylists, trainers) and each one handles a specific service type, provider rules guarantee the right routing every time.

Example: Dr. Kim handles Injectables. Ashley handles Facials. Without provider rules, FullSlot has to guess based on the event title alone. With them, it routes correctly the moment it sees the provider's name.

How to add a provider rule

1. Go to Settings → Provider Rules 2. Click Add rule 3. Enter the provider name exactly as it appears in your calendar events (e.g., "Dr. Kim", "Ashley", "Kim") 4. Select the appointment type they handle 5. Save

FullSlot will apply this rule to all future cancellations. The provider name match is case-insensitive and looks for the name anywhere in the event title.

Multiple providers, same service

If multiple providers handle the same appointment type, add a rule for each provider pointing to the same appointment type.

Provider rules vs. classification rules

| | Provider Rules | Classification Rules | |---|---|---| | Based on | Provider name in event title | Title keywords, duration, or provider | | Best for | Multi-provider practices | Shorthand titles or complex patterns | | Priority | Applied first | Applied after provider rules |

Use provider rules when routing is purely provider-based. Use classification rules for more complex matching logic.
